Bangkok: The heaven of SHOPPING & FOOD!

First of all, I must say I am not an expert of Bangkok traveler, it is just my sharing.

If you ever been to Bangkok, then you will definitely understand what I’m saying. You will never go to Bangkok for only ONCE!!! Before I have been to Bangkok, the image of Bangkok in my mind is a dirty and messy town, everywhere got the risk of bomb. But after you have been to Bangkok, you will definitely change your mind, and it will always not be your last time to Bangkok.

When my first time been to Bangkok, it totally changed my mind. Bangkok is a clean city, it is not as dirty as I thought. The streets are clean and there is no holes in the road. Everywhere is smooth and clean. Definitely cleaner than Malaysia. The people there are friendly too, although they do not know English, but they are cute in ‘translating’ using their hand signs.

They have night markets almost everywhere and every nights, that’s quite happening at night. I’m not going to talk about shopping, but only food. My friends had been telling me that I must go to Thailand’s 7-11, that is very different with Malaysia’s. So, I went to Bangkok’s 7-11, once you stepped in, you will find that it is totally a small heaven! I go to the 7-11 everyday, because you can easily find 7-11 everywhere in Bangkok. See what I got in Bangkok’s 7-11. I can spend every meals in 7-11! Not kidding.

The burgers and sandwiches. You can request to make hot from the cashier. It's nice too!
Must Try! Hot Dogsssss! My favourite!

This is my another favourite too! The cake is soft and there's super fine mashed banana.

Even addicted until bought 20 back to Malaysia! haha

Honey! This is for drinking not facial cleanser or mask. Must Buy! Can give it to your friends as souvenirs!

This yogurt drink is very nice too~ Tastes like Yakult.

Meiji Chocolate, I like the taste of milk chocolate.

Banana Pancake
You can find it easily on Bangkok's street. It is very delicious, it is like roti canai with fresh banana slices inside and chocolate sauce topping. It is sweet and nice~ Sometimes you can find many other flavors in some stalls.

Thai Milk Tea
You must try Thai Milk Tea on the first day of Bangkok trip, you will definitely drink it everyday during the entire trip in Bangkok. Trust me! Thai coffee also taste not bad.

Siam Paragon food court

Mango Sticky Rice

Seafood Tomyam noodles, my favourite again!

Sorry, I'm a bread lover! You must try this bread stall in Siam Paragon food court. Their bread is soft and their kaya is warm and nice. Love it so much!

The kaya: Yam, Vanilla and Pandan

You can dip the bread into the kaya too!

After You

After You is a very famous dessert café in Bangkok. You must give a try when you are in Bangkok. It is quite pricy but it is worth to try. Every desserts are nice, from toast breads to cakes.

Soi 19 Wanton Mee

If you like to eat Wanton Mee, you can try the famous Wanton Mee in Soi 19. There is always a super long queue outside the shop. The Wanton Mee costs around 100 baht, I was told it was quite pricy though. It serves in a big bowl, but small portion of wanton mee, but it is tasty with crab meat. Maybe, you should try once.

Chatuchak Market

Chatuchak market only opened during the weekend. You must try out their toast garlic bread. It is super yummy! I am addicted to the garlic bread and also the toast bread with condensed milk. I miss it already.

Seafood stall along the street from Central World to Platinum Mall.

Open at 6pm.

Roti Sai Mai

Roti Sai Mai is a traditional food from Attuthaya, quite hard to find it in Bangkok. I was quite lucky to find it at a food fest. It is some sugar made cotton candy wrapped with popiah skin. A super sweet snack.

Tsubohachi @ Publika

What will come in your mind first when mentioned about Japanese food? Sushi? Nooo... That's too mainstream for Japanese food. You can find a lot of Japanese restaurant with sushi as their main dish in Malaysia. But what can you think about Japanese food, other than sushi? There are still lots of delicious food from Japan, if you only know sushi, then that's too wrong! Let's discover it together!

As everyone knows, Publika is a place which gathers all nice cafes and also restaurant for the young people to chill at night! There is a new opening Japanese restaurant located in Publika, Tsubohachi. As mentioned earlier, Tsubohachi is a Japanese restaurant, but the difference of Tsubohachi and other Japanese restaurants are they have many more special dishes that you can't find in other Japanese restaurants.

Tsubohachi is consider a quite classy Japanese restaurant. You can find it easily from the outside of Publika mall. It is located at the second floor of Publika, just above Ante Cafe. The restaurant is actually quite eye-catching from the outside. You can see ALL RED in the restaurant. When you enter the restaurant, you will be impressed by their interior design, it is just like Japanese style design. You can choose to sit at the normal tables or in the Japanese bucket. The Japanese bucket is super cute! Besides that, you can see many Japanese lanterns around and also few prosperity cat statue on top.

Just like other Japanese restaurant, they do serve sushi as well, but sushi is just too mainstream, so they add in some fun and special dishes into their menu. Let's see how fun is the food can be.

Buta Hakusai Nabe (RM29.90)

This dish is quite popular in the internet recently, it is quite healthy and the most important thing is low calories! Girls who having diet plan, don't have to worry about calories! It is actually pork belly and Chinese cabbage Mille-Feuille claypot. It can fit 2 to 3 pax, so share it with your friends! The pork belly and chinese cabbage match each other very well, and the soup is super sweet and nice! You should give this a try.

Tarabagani Kamameshi (RM36.90)

It is actually a pot rice with King Crab. The King Crab was first served uncooked, the waiter will then put on the fire and cook it in front of you. It will take around 10-15 minutes to cook the King Crab rice. The King Crab was placed on top of the rice, so the rice is quite tasty due to the sweetness of the King Crab. The King Crab is just nice and fresh. You need to eat the King Crab with the rice together and feel the freshness inside the King Crab, you will never regret about that.

Nagashi Somen Setto (RM27.90)

It is a flowing Somem Noodle Set. This dish was quite fun, it was served in a big green 'machine' with cucumber slices and tomatoes in the middle of the machine. There is ice surrounding the cucumber slices and tomatoes. You just need to put in the Somem Noodle into the machine, your noodles will keep on flowing in the machine. This creates interactive with your friends too, children will like it too!

Petit Salad (RM14.90) that comes with 1Base,4Mains,1Supplementary & 1 Dressing

We find that the price for salads is quite reasonable with the portion and of course same for the Pitaya Bowl as it is made up by fresh fruits, chia seeds, nuts and etc.

Brotz N.19 Bakery & Cafe @ Bandar Sunway

Infusing new life into the Sunway neighbourhood, believed that Brot’z have become another great option whether for a quick lunch or dinner for the students.
Scroll down the great review!

The creamy seafood tom yam pasta was, as the name suggested, very creamy. Great for people who loves heavy, cream based pastas with lots of sauce to go around. (I’m sure we have all experienced the annoyance of having to eat pasta dry cause there just wasn’t enough sauce to coat the noodles)

There was a distinctive smell of tom yam when the spaghetti was served, and the first bite caught me off guard. It was spicyyyy!! Not the kind which makes you feel like you’re on fire, but it was a definite shock to the system. And by that, I mean the good kind of shock. The kind that’s addictive and keeps you wanting more till you’ve seen the last of it disappear.
Unlike the usually Thai tom yam we get however, there wasn’t much of lime detected but I felt that the tom yam went very well with the cream sauce as the spiciness made it more acceptable for people who gets ‘jelat’ easily when eating cream based food and the cream kind of makes the tom yam less spicy.
The said seafood present was a few pieces of i-have-no-idea-what-but-it’s-probably-dory fish and calamari. Nothing to shout about here but I’ve no complains, seeing that it’s part of the lunch set meal which costs only rm15.90 which include either the tom yam creamy pasta or the _________ with a drink and dessert (which was actually 2 slices of watermelon).

There’s an option to top up your drink to a coffee for only rm5 or your dessert to a scoop of baskin Robbin ice cream for rm6.
