SALTed@Mutiara Damansara

ATT! If you are fans of sarawakian food, you shouldn't be missed out! Salted, which specialize in authentic and scrumptious of sarawak local dishes has moving to a shop which is spacious compared to the stall opened inside Zam Zam Cafe & Satay Club and gained reputation. There's no doubt that Malaysia have different kind of laksa, for example, curry laksa which is more on coconut based curry broth; assam laksa which is has texture of sour and fish based broth. Right here I would like to introduce and highly recommeded their Sarawak Laksa, Belacan Bihun and Kolo Mee which is unlikely to get it in KL.

Kolo Mee
Not a strange dish as this symbolize as famous local dish in Sarawak. The appearance of kolo mee is pale yellow, a bit thick and flat noodles and comes with the sides of minced chicken and garnish with shallots. The texture is crunchy and the flavour/aroma is with a hint of shallot oil.

Mee Jawa
Not an ordinary mee jawa you have at most of the stalls/restaurant, the version by SALTed is they added curry paste which turns out surprisingly good, fragrant and the twist taste between the natural sweetness of sweet potato and curry. There are two types of complimentary sides to be chosen from, beef or chicken, hard boiled egg, tauhu and garnished with chili and cilantro.

Belacan Bihun RM6.90
Okay this is a must try when you are at Salted! It is so hard to find authentic belacan mihun and it may be a strange dish in KL. The dish name said it, it is full of sambal belacan flavour. The acceptance may be vary to people, rather you likes it or you hate it but it should not be a problem if you are hard core spicy fans! The taste rather be spicy, sweet and sides with century eggs.

Sarawak Laksa (seafood) RM13.90
The soup base is sambal belacan which ultimately brings out the crimson colour and some others ingredients as well as topped with fresh prawns, omelette strips, freshly chopped coriander leaves and tadaa a traditional bowl of Sarawak Laksa is born.

Century Eggs
It also known as "Pitan" and normally you will find it eaten with white porridge. The texture is just like hard boiled and is like 'jelly', regards the yolk, it is actually fragrant but seriously it is vary to people. As for me, this "pitan" is just way too good.

Ribena Sprite
The twisting flavour of carbonated soft drink and the sweetness of Ribena.
