Superthai Restaurant Uptown

Minimalistic decor of black wall, wooden furniture and soft mood lighting welcome guests into the confines of Superthai, a quaint eatery nestled in Uptown, where specialized in authentic Thai cuisine.

Superthai is a spin-off restaurant of Kompassion, which is reputedly one of the best Thai restaurant in the Klang Valley. The restaurant is located at second floor of the shop facing main road- look for Softsrve and you will find Superthai on the floor above.

Facade of Superthai Restaurant.

Red Tomyum. RM8.

Hot and Sour flavours, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. They are quite delicious and most importantly, spicy as you’d have expected from the name.

Flame Grilled Pork Neck. RM27.

With just the right amount of lean meat, muscle, and fat, pork neck is so flavorful that I’m tempted to say that you couldn't resist it. Superthai is an non-halal restaurant and this appertizer is worth trying.

Salt and Pepper Squid. RM18.

Personally, this is our most recommended dish because we're suckers for salt-and-pepper squid, in all its crisp, spiced, deep-fried glory. We usually only eat salt and pepper squid out at Chinese restaurants as it’s a real treat, but now we can enjoy it in Superthai.

Dancing Fish in Sweet and Sour Gravy. RM45.

The fish has a crisp skin but soft in the inner, served with sweet and sour sauce drizzled on top and garnished with curry leaves.

Frame Grilled Pork Belly. RM 25.

Pork belly, nature’s striated masterpiece of fat and lean, the succulent essence of pig. Heh
Juicy and flavourful bbq pork belly with the homemade dipping sauce. It's so ridiculously awesome, words just can't describe. Guess the chef have diligently marinate the pork belly in the sauce. :)

Fried rice with crab meat. RM18

This dish is the staple favourite at most chinese restaurants but with the improved Thai version and 'wok hei'.

Red ruby jack fruit. RM10.

Coconut milk based dessert that is very popular among Thai when the weather is hot. The small reddish/pinkish jewels are water chestnut covered with tapioca flour, served with sweeten coconut milk and shaved ice. Shredded jackfruit and longan are added to this dessert to make it extra special.

Overall, I would say Superthai is reasonably affordable compared to other thai eateries as well as they are serving authentic, delicious and quality thai cuisine. Frankly, it is not easy to find authentic thai restaurant around Uptown, do drop by if you haven't.
